Mother is sorting out her permanent residency (or citizenship), and then I can join her under family reunification rules. She's excitedly talking about it like I'm moving next week. Aside from all the paperwork we both need, the weeks/months wait, I will have to make TWO overnight trips to London!

Ordered mum the stuff to study for her A2 DELE, she may as well go for citizenship at this point. Treated myself to the B2 DELE stuff, give myself the best chance of success. A multi lingual queen is much more likely to succeed abroad.

Finished this festive number a couple of days ago. Apart from the fasten the hood opening with 'neat little stitches', I'm not a neat little stitches person at the best of times. Yes there's a few wonky bits but nothing big enough to warrant redoing it. First thing that isn't socks!

A very red hand knit hooded jumper.

The jumper is lay on a red plaid duvet cover. The yarn is a festive sparkly red. The sleeves of the jumper are lay across the body. The right arm is lay across the body from left to right, the left arm is lay inwards and then folded back on itself. The hood is a bit scrunched up as it was hard to lay nice for a picture!

Since my mum arrived, I've realised I'm sensitive to sound and very on edge for sudden noises, likely from all the door banging/kicking/breaking in this building. I'm also tired due to being disturbed by the noise from 06:00 - 02:00, almost every day. I know the council are working on it but fuck.

Squishy post is here! My sister (who manages my bank at my request) allows me to purchase yarn for one project, when that one is nearly done I can get another. This is to make an icy cardi. Drops Fiesta 42 - Ice Crystals and Drops Lid Silk 08 - Light Blue Jeans.

An organza bag filled with yarn sits on a blanket that is grey with bees on it.

Two balls of yarn are removed from the bag and are lay on it. A ball of Drops Kid Silk, a fine mohair, in the colour light blue jeans is atop a ball of drops fiesta - ice crystals, a cream yarn with dark and light blue flecks in it.

Next to the yarn balls is a small white box containing 5.5mm knit pro zing interchangeable needles shanks. The bit of needle visible is a reddish coffee brown colour.

Got to finish my knit hoody quick now. Last night I had some tacos that decided to burst as I bit into them. Onto my wip. Washed it off as best I can but I fear I squished tomato pieces into my stitches. I'm too close to the end to bother taking it off the needles to wash now, so full speed ahead!

16 stitches decreased. 144 to go. I prefer decreases to increases but fuck me, acrylic on aluminium needles is a sensory hell. Any wonky stitches are staying, I can't re knit this. Gonna look sick in my sparkly red hooded jumper cutting about here and Lanzarote this coming festive season.

So I am progressing with my sparkly red jumper, I have the body and both arms and I'm about to connect it all and do the yoke. I had to pause and go and check my yarn math/details because I ordered 12 100g 150m balls. Everything is in metric. 1 ball for each arm, 2.5 for the body. 4.5 balls so far.

Phone arrived at 17:50, setup immediately began. 5 hours to set it up from iCloud, 15 mins in my dreams. 0 (zero) apps (beside Apple ones) have successfully downloaded. I remember setting my Xs up in the Trafford Centre, stood outside the Apple Store, and it was done in less than 30 minutes. 2018.

6 days ago I had an ID check with Social Security Scotland. I was told I should wait a minimum of 6 weeks to find out if my carer support payment was approved, but it's currently very busy so it could take a few months. The pending transactions on my bank suggest I've been approved. A small relief.

This hair shop thing is ridiculous. I went to mine based on word of mouth, she went on creative colour courses as me and sis started going. My hair was not a quick or cheap job. In 2020 I lived in Sweden and couldn't get back for my hair, she guided me over FaceTime to do my own bleach.
