It was a true treat seeing Gong Slayer perform twice over the past five months. Drew and I have been exchanging emails leading up to last nights performance, it was great getting to visit in person. Drew has a good deal of merch: tour tapes, t-shirts and posters.

You know: i am not huge on the content of Broadway. The bombastic musical gets to be too much for me. However: i love those behind-the-scenes Broadway stories that people would just get up and tell, particularly from the 1960s. Now those are hugely entertaining!

i would mark me as potential in that I would definitely want one, but i have a tendency to be slow to act.

I think it was the name and the face that sparked a memory somewhere. But memory can be REALLY inaccurate (for me especially!) it would have likely have been a meetup in Lowell with my band at the time.

Hmm. I am kind of wondering now: did we know each other then? I was 18 and living in Lawrence, but this all sounds really familiar!

Also, Tad has provided my newest description of IhcilonL "Emerging from the Korg-based sounds of inexplicable blue, I imagine this performance as the perfect tones to enjoy at an abandoned swimming pool party at the condemned high school dance."

When I read this it reaffirms to me that failure is much better than procrastination!!! “failure will often be better than the original idea.”

Yeah! Robin is FANTASTIC live! He somehow makes wherever he is feel like you sort of wandered into a show in his living room in the best of ways.

The longer the Brain in the Cupboard Festival goes, the weirder my flyer design is going to get:

I think Chicago is going to absolutely smash though! And it is close enough I can feasibly do some flyering. Exposure has been the biggest challenge.

Selfishly, I would have liked a better turnout. Then of course, I had no idea we would be competing with Riot Fest in Chicago and 5 other events in Milwaukee!

Brian Wilson predicted the future by becoming the first artist to collect a folder of recordings he couldn't figure out how to arrange into a coherent body of work. I bet he would have listened to 8 bar loops that go nowhere for hours too, given the chance.
