When I was working for Pizza Hut in 2019, we were using an outdated UI menu sitting on top of a command-line interface. When it broke, which happened frequently, I was the one who called in for support. Talked a lot of trash with them about that old system.

My one-two combo is Fate and Shadowdark. When someone's willing to try TTRPGs, you can almost always give them the experience they want with one of these two. I'm a collector of cool niche games beyond that, but it's a lot harder to get a group together for those.

That mindset does tend to lead to success pretty reliably for the impotently privileged - "do you know who my father is" types. It also fills a closet with a devastating number of skeletons. Being the kind of person that reaches for the spotlight makes you the kind of person with a shameful past.

You can already see it happening. My nephew is a classic games nerd just like I was growing up, but he's going back to play the games that were classics when I was a kid because the console games from 2010 and on are just less available to the average consumer. That's before even discussing DRM.

They do allow game key carts for third party devs, but those were mostly made for cross platform titles where the game discs on other consoles are also just a download code. I still think they're gross, but I think Nintendo shouldn't be trying to court cross platform titles in the first place.

Agreed that DRM is a nightmare for consumers and archivists. That said, a lot of games from 30+ years ago are available now on recreation hardware and recompilation efforts for the PS2 and N64 era of games are breaking ground in a significant way.

No, Lilith is a Judaic folklore that isn't included in the Christian Bible. I'm pretty sure those stories describe her as the mother of demons. The Nephilim are only mentioned in passing a few times, though, so they're almost as apocryphal as Lilith.
