TIL that Orazio Benevoli’s stunningly beautiful Missa Angelus Domini is a fine way to end a weekend (with thanks to @ifagiolini.bsky.social).

Album cover of the recording by I Fagiolini of two of Benevoli’s masses on the Coro lable. It is quite hard to describe but has the word ‘Missae’ in large, multi-coloured letters across the middle.

Thanking you. There seems to be something about Benevoli and Credos: he stops halfway (a bit knackered) for a cheeky fag - ‘Et incarnatus’ - then gets a second wind with new inspiration and absolutely flies to the end with elan.
