Herd is one of our favourite ways to run Kirby on a local machine: herd.laravel.com The latest version introduces one-click installers that work with Kirby out of the box. ⚡️ Kirby Starterkit: herd.laravel.com/new/getkirby... ⚡️ Kirby Plainkit: herd.laravel.com/new/getkirby...

I don't google anymore but solve everything with AI or YouTube, how on earth are people supposed to launch new products and get traffic?

Since we accidentally discovered that there's a group of pizza making devs, here's todays result as a thread. Let's start with this morning after setting up Poolish yesterday.

Todays Herd update adds better PHP 8.4 compatiblity and we've improved some things. Nothing fancy but worth an update 🙂 herd.laravel.com/changelog#1130

I wonder how many people, who email small software companies and indie devs "hey, I bought your product x weeks ago but have seen that you have a Black Friday offer now and would get the discount" go into real stores, return their purchases or ask for refunds.

We've not only rebuilt the Expose website, we've also lowered the price for teams drastically (and there's and already active Black Friday deal right now). You don't need Expose every day but having this in your toolbox as a team shouldn't be a cost factor.

Sometimes it really hits me that we have like 20,000 customers per person on our team and how that even works 🤯

Today, we've deployed a major restructuring of the docs for Herd to not only make it the most robust and easy to use development environment but also the best documented. If you ever feel that something is unclear or needs improvements, let me know!

The Tinkerwell 3 launch 18 months ago was a blast and I couldn't come up with ideas how we could improve the app even further – but Tinkerwell 4 is so much better that it excites me to release everything that's new tomorrow.

2 days until Tinkerwell 4 launches and launch anxiety is slowly creeping in 🙈 The new version is fantastic and will make thousands of users happy but will it also have a financial ROI? Perpetual fallback licenses are a good selling point but clearly have their downsides as a business.

I'd love to be able to tell what works best for our marketing and increases product sales but it's impossible to name a single thing. It's dedicated hard work on 100 things that somehow work together.

Sometimes I'd love to have a part time designer at Beyond Code who can just take all the stuff that I am writing and turn it into beautiful websites that just need to be built. Writing and building isn't the deal but making it pretty is fcking hard.

Detail Dive in Tinkerwell 4 is sooo good, I haven't used the normal CLI output that's similar to tinker in weeks

Tinkerwell Code editor showing the an sql query and an error in the results

Tinkerwell code editor showing a query and an exception in the results

My #1 use case for Tinkerwell is writing method bodies without creating routes, controllers, etc. until everything works. It makes iterations so much faster when I don't have to switch to the browser and dd the output there.

I somehow crossed my red line for my body weight and it's time to start intermittent fasting and stop eating crap again 😅 Let's bring it down to 98kg or less, 100 is too much even for my size at 2.02m 🦒 Adjusting early makes it much easier than waiting 5 more kilos.

Running an internet business with customers across the whole world and generally having a skills that allow remote work is a advantage that will pay off 100x in the next 25 years.

Yesterday I went to my all time favorite live band Die Ärzte again and for the first time in a small 3000 people concert instead of the usual stadium. It's so different and more energetic having these popular bands playing in small locations.

It feels like more Laravel people are here and it starts to become more cozy and not an empty place with accounts but no posts so that there's slowly value in opening Bluesky every once in a while instead of good old Twitter.

So when does Bluesky launch stories?

Quick reminder that if you're working with clients, you need to raise your prices every year to match inflation.

I'm excited for Tinkerwells new log viewer that comes with v4 later this month. It automatically detects that there are new logs available and trails them within the app to make debugging in Tinkerwell even easier.

I've been in the Netherlands with my family for a week and recharged my batteries. This year has been stressful for me due to health issues within the family but everything is fine now. I'm ready to push me and my company to the next level and look forward to work with the team on Monday.

After going back to Twitter for a while, the latest algorithm changes makes it basically unusable for me. Without links to interest articles, doomscrolling for discovery doesn't make any sense anymore and I am back here 👋

The size of Bluesky makes every like on a post 10x as intense as one Twitter

Has anyone nailed selling developer tools to whole teams and how did they do it? We sell to individuals in teams a lot but rarely equip their colleagues, at least not in bulk.

Today I have started to get in touch with existing users and ask if they'd like to introduce the tools to their team – and providing quotes for their managers that they can simply accept and pay via our website. The first one accepted and we made a typical daily revenue with one sale 🔥

Germany is full of experts about what won't happen in the future and why we can keep doing what we did for the last 20 years. Our economy is doomed and it will happen overnight for most people because politicians and (main stream) media tells them that everything will be fine.

You either let your dog sleep in your bed or he isn't allowed to go into the bedroom at all. I feel there is no middle ground for dog people.
