that's why it's really important to me that idletry is in a printed format... the physical characteristics of the medium are directly relevant to the themes, AND the actual plot of the story. the fact that you, the reader, can literally observe they are just ink stuck on a page, is relevant.

the resistance and the cult are hard to justify narratively, but i feel very intuitive, arguably inevitable consequences of jessie's rise to power. the cult always had more presence in the first draft than the resistance, but the resistance has been featured more heavily in side content.

in actuality, i'd consider the scripting right before drawing the 3rd draft, and the sketch the 4th draft... it's a weird draft limbo since the script was edited in its entirety for a 2nd draft, but so much changes during the drawing process, i didn't see the point in 3rd drafting without any art.

samwich never mentions who their mother is to jessie. at least at this point in the script. i think jessie would recognize the name, but wouldn't necessarily be impressed or interested in the celebrity of it all. but it is a thing sam can probably generally bring up to people for social leverage.
