So far, excellent wine, but I'm not sure a feta wrap for lunch qualifies for this level of nom. I may have to break out the truffle brie.

I intend to sleep the sleep tonight of someone who is about to make bad decisions about both... 🧀🍷

I learned some High Valyrian on Duolingo during lockdown. The grammar is surprisingly elegant.

It's finally finished! "Sometimes Even Nemo Runs Aground" is my love letter to the the slow recovery process from burnout and fatigue. Escaping a wreck is hard, but there are friends to help and light ahead. 🐙 #artsky #fantasyart #oceanart #mentalhealth #burnout

"Sometimes Even Nemo Tuns Aground" by Ida Keogh. An underwater scene painted in acrylics, depicting the wreck of the Nautilus cradled by a giant pink octopus, three manta rays spiralling downwards, and a tiny Nemo swimming up towards the glittering sunlight.

✨⭐️ Many of you will know Flo and Rob, two truly lovely people who are having a hard time at the moment and could use some help from the community. Any amount you can spare to ease them through Flo's recovery from stroke and seizure, at a time when Rob himself is very unwell, would be amazing. ⭐️✨

I've been away for a long weekend, but back on it today. I've finished the coral and added a tiny escaping Nemo. #artsky #fantasyart #oceanart #wip

An acrylic painting by Ida Keogh in progress - An underwater scene with a giant octopus curled around the wreck of the Nautilus. Three manta rays spiral downwards, and a tiny figure in a vintage diving suit is swimming away from the wreck.

This is a distinction I haven't given much thought to previously. Where does general setting end and worldbuilding begin? Interesting perspective here, and the linked thread to @vajra.me's discussion is also worth a read. #writersky #worldbuilding

Oh I love cootlings, too! Who needs booblets.

I discovered that baby coots are actually really called cootlets the other day, and it was on the RSPB website so I got to squee about it for a bit.

A few more photos from last week, playing with the new camera's hefty zoom lens. Taken at Unstead Wetland Reserve, Surrey, and the surrounding area. #wildlifephotography #nature

Photo by Ida Keogh: A magpie sitting on a fence, the late afternoon sun lighting up its tail feathers. A spiderweb and strands of horse hair hang from under the railing.

Photo by Ida Keogh: Two rabbits on wetland scrub, sat side on and ostensibly looking that way, but actually silently judging me.

More #macro shenanigans! I was trying to photograph this pond skater...

I bought myself a shiny new camera. Technology has come on so much since my last one around 15 years ago! Here are a couple of snap shots with a 100mm macro lens, automatic settings as I haven't worked it all out yet, on a grey and windy day. The detail is insane. #photography #macro

I keep finding my @brisbane28.org koala in weird places around the house. It's currently hugging some ornamental sticks in a vase which used to be in my hallway. Perhaps the cats keep moving him. Perhaps he moves by himself. Who knows.

A lovely experiment! This is Romantasy Dragon, made with polymer clay, inks, random stash fabric and some feverish words written by dragons for dragons. This baby will be in the Fantasycon auction. I'm hoping she'll find a loving home! #fantasyart #dragon

Oooh, wonderful! I love the piece I have from you, I'll be on the look out for more. I, on the other hand, am still contemplating what on earth to paint for Fantasycon and appear to have been sidetracked making polymer clay dragons 😅😂

I own well over 100 rubber ducks, many of which are limited edition LOTR ducks. I am aware this is a privilege and I suspect your ducks are more useful to society. But hey. Owning ducks brings me joy, I hope yours do too.
