Rayearth 2026 really feels like a prettier version of Rayearth 1994 so far. When I started the 1994 version it felt so distinctly 90s that I wondered if that charm would carry over in the remake and it has so far.

Despite never playing FF14, my enduring memory of it will always be Blossom struggling with a raid because the enemies went off-tank and wiped her and the other DPS. I suggested she's doing too good a job at DPS that the tank can't keep aggro so she should play intentionally worse. It worked.

So in my mind, the main love interest looks like your typical fantasy dark prince, cause that's my mental image of the love interest in those kinds of shows. And I was right, because that's what Rhysand looks like. That really should have clued me in on how Tamlin was going to turn out.

So when Blossom first tried recapping the books, the way the story read reminded me a lot of Saintess/Villainess anime, specifically ones like Snow White with the Red Hair and 7th Time Loop, girl gets swept up by dark and handsome prince who is just misunderstood.

Blossom is really excited for the next ACOTAR book so she's making me watch a recap of the series so she has someone to talk to about the book. (She tried doing it herself but felt that she wasn't being thorough) Currently on book 2 and damn, Tamlin sucks.

Would totally want to try it again as I know where I messed up with the skin. Because I am doing it in an air fryer, I think I should follow the low & slow cooking method than the high start medium finish that the cookbook advised. Although I need a lot of fridge space for it to marinate overnight

I also just do not have the proper knife or skills to chop a whole duck like they do in restaurants, so I ended up with a lot of shredded duck that I can use for wraps, pizza, sandwiches or stir-fry. Also lots of duck fat. The process wasn't as hard as I made it out to be, just time consuming.

Made Roast Duck tonight. I had a recipe in the Avatar cookbook for it and I had been seeing whole duck in the supermarket for about as much as I pay for half duck and decided to give it a try. No photo because I burned the skin in the air fryer, but it turned out all right for a first proper try.

Still, it's nice to see the game animated. If any of the Suikoden games deserved an anime it was 2. Still one of my favourite JRPGs of all time.

Pacing wise with the double length episode they got as far as escaping Kyaro Town and reuniting with Viktor and Flik, which is a lot of gameplay time. They're basically skipping over dungeon traversal and non-plot relevant combat, which is expected. I don't think it's going to appeal to newcomers

Random thing I noticed while watching Blossom play Echoes of Aincrad and I noticed during boss fights, she'll always try flanking the boss' right side. Incidentally, I always flank the left in games. So, we naturally coordinate a pincer if we were in a party.

Spent the night going through our Overload haul and trying to remember which stall we got each item or print from. Most had business cards or their handle on the print, but there were a couple I couldn't find until I searched the artist stalls

I relate to this so hard. I was going to take a photo of my haul before I realized not all of the prints I got came with a card and I forgot what stall they were at.

Got 2nd place in the Overload Anime Quiz. In true fashion, I choked at the last question (twice actually, I also choked the final qualifying round but filled in for Blossom who didn't want to join the 2nd stage.)

Mushoku Tensei coming in with what feels like a ReZero episode this week. This whole season really was building up to this exact moment.

It is still easily my 3rd pick for best anime of this season (Jaadugar being 1st and Inept Villainess being 2nd) But I definitely understand the mixed reactions to it.

I'm not sure how I feel about the ending of Goodbye, Lara. In retrospect it makes sense given the title of the show, but at the same time, it feels like it just ends.

We're getting a baton pass of Inept Villainess to Apothecary Diaries and back for the next 3 seasons. Good time to be into Chinese Palace drama inspired anime.
