Both my Democrat U.S. Senators voted to confirm Doug Collins as the new Secretary of Veterans Affairs. While the no-clearance Elon Musk team gained access to VA records, Collins didn't release any statement, so now I'll contact my Senators to ask about their vote. Someone needs to give me an answer.

This is from the Mescalero Apache Tribe in New Mexico after an incident where an ICE officer demanded proof of U.S. citizenship from a tribal member. To be clear, ICE, Border Patrol, law enforcement, or the military cannot require you to prove you are a U.S. citizen within the boundaries of the U.S.

For New Mexico, veterans within 20 years of their discharge can get cost-free 5-year CCW licensing for up to .45 caliber, in both revolver and semi-auto, without a range qualification. CCW in the state is otherwise 4 years, and only in the style and up to the caliber that you had in range training.

Understood - I've just filed my claims, so I'll probably see delays (initial interviews were by contractors, but now it is in the hands of the VA). As retired military, I'm also supposed to have 100% coverage. John is fully on board with both Trump and Elon, and it is evident in his 'X' posts.

They want the VA and other agencies to a skeleton, overloaded staff. Minimal claim payouts, and lengthy processing - That fictional VA office will be down to a single worker, one that proved they can "save the most money". Veteran suicides are going to increase too - as care plumets.

Shit, I'll be "double-dipping" with the retirement pension, even though they are from different funding, for different things. I can see claims being minimized by people that we didn't see alongside us. "Why do you need ALL of that?". Because Social Security won't be there is why - and we earned it.

No - I think that there will be purges for the claims decisions at the VA based on a metric that the highest average adjusters will be on the way out. VA employees will be very aware of that environment. If your average is 34% and Bob down the hall is 57% on his average claim level, "Bye, Bob....".
