Social cricket wisdom incoming. It's Sunday fun day, so you bat, particularly as it probably rains later, in which case you may achieve the great joy which is to bat, have tea, then f off.

Can also recommend "that's a MASSive load of bollocks". Shortens any meeting. May also explain why I am retired.

Surrey play a game with two teams bowled out for under a hundred, but that pitch must have been an absolute road so OK with no sanction. Because money. I wonder who is on the committee which overlooks, I mean oversees, these things*. *Actually, no I don't.

This highlights the fatal flaw in 20 over cricket, one which is epitomised in the IPL and may one day wither its popularity as it becomes endlessly repetitive. No shade on the players, they are just doing what they should do as professionals.

Amersham Heritage Day last Sunday. Here's some life enhancing photos including the Triumph Roadster lowering the tone amongst some immaculately turned out classics. Particularly enjoyed watching mediaeval reenactment and ferret racing. My kind of combo.

Oh man. Gary Sobers. For me, the best all round cricketer to have played the game. Met him a couple of times (not unusual, he visited many clubs and was friends of some people at mine). No thigh pad worn against Lillee and Thompson. Top class bowler in three different styles. #ProperGOAT #Sobers

I think Infantino took too big a cut from the lavishly thick brown envelope Argentina passed FIFA for the ref. Probably. Simeone must have paid well though. He could openly machine gun the back four and it would be play on.

Something which initially grew promisingly, but then subsides or collapses, is said in our household to "flunf" or to have "flunfed". Multiple situations arise where usage is possible, I am told.

Quarter page ad from Januay 1947's Illustrated Sporting and Dramatic News mag for one of the newfangled Triumph 1800 Roadsters. As children, my sister and I went from Lancashire to Scotland in those folk down seats it mentions. Saying they could take two adults is fraudulent misrepresentation.
