I got to talk to @lgaustindavis.bsky.social at @statesforum.bsky.social last week about why state-level power is more important than ever—and the ideas he’s prioritized in Pennsylvania that can be modeled elsewhere around the country. He’s a bright rising star we should all be paying attention to.

It can be hard to find big ideas that may offer us a path forward. Even when you see a good take, it can get lost in the shuffle. @statesforum.bsky.social has a valuable new resource: its own central clearinghouse of ideas to spark debate about how to fix America Read ‘em: statesforum.org

Things nationally are chaotic and destructive, so @statesforum.bsky.social is going local: bringing together the best leaders and ideas from the states Spent time at its launch this week. What a hope injection. Bold state actions really can lead us out of this mess. www.nytimes.com/2025/07/10/u...

At least 11 federal agencies targeted by the Trump-Musk firings and cuts “have more than 32 continuing investigations, pending complaints or enforcement actions into Mr. Musk’s six companies” per @nytimes.com

Get this- While Republican politicians in the House cheer the Trump/Musk cuts to things like farm assistance, they’re asking for BIGGER budgets for themselves! They want to waste *more* money on political stunt hearings to get themselves attention and hiring more GOP political operatives Unreal

Americans rightly want a more efficient fed govt that works better for them. Elon knows this and wants an image of broad, even radical, “reform.” He welcomes outrage. Dems should respond not by coming across as status quo defenders, but by showing how Elon’s actions actually make govt work worse.

I still can’t get over the fact that, during the very days Trump was ranting about only having qualified people in key jobs, it was revealed that he and Elon Musk put a 2024 high school graduate at least partially in charge of the federal workforce www.wired.com/story/elon-m...

Trump’s political attacks in this tragic moment will wear thin on the vast majority of Americans He’s in charge. He’s the President. Have your Administration find out what happened. Don’t invent fake things to blame like DEI or Pete Buttigieg while bodies are still in the river.

In the first week of the Trump 2.0, Democrats have been divided, disoriented - and largely silent. They seem to be waiting for all the answers and the right message to speak up. That's a mistake. Here are some thoughts on how they can start fighting back ASAP. www.messageboxnews.com/p/how-democr...

How Democrats Can Start Fighting Back

Too many in the party are overcomplicating the simple and unable to muster any opposition to Trump.

Some Trump voters are skeptical of his opening moves to embrace fellow billionaires

Some of President Donald Trump's working-class and middle-class supporters see a lack of emphasis on lowering consumer costs and making daily American life more affordable.

This of course comes as Trump threatens new tariffs every day—tariffs that would pass new, higher costs onto Americans for products they buy and use every day, like groceries. Whether it’s coffee from Colombia or fruits and vegetables from Mexico. And many more…

The single issue most responsible for Trump’s victory: high cost of living. Now, after last week’s EO to raise Rx drug prices, Trump halts all federal funds for things like low-income food and heating assistance. Farm aid. Rent support. Medicaid. He’s actively using power to raise people’s costs.

I’m venturing onto Bluesky as we enter the new year! I learned a fake account has recently been impersonating me (@ian-sams), even messaging people. Luckily, within minutes of me flagging it, the account has been suspended. It’s nice to have a social platform that still cares about these things! 😂
