"Decision-making is decentralized." Engineers are now expected to be architects, often without the training. Tech leader Luca Mezzalira explains why the "architect mindset" is more critical than ever. It’s not about memorizing patterns; it's about guiding decisions. Watch the clip 👇 #InfoQ

This is the stuff we need to be talking about with each other. It's one thing to watch a video, but another to be in a room with peers who are also figuring it out. That's the whole point of @qconferences.com #InfoQDevSummit and @infoq.com. No hype, just practitioners sharing what actually works.

The key idea that stuck with me: thinking of AI as a "brilliant but flawed junior partner." It can write the code, but your senior experience is what provides the architectural guidance, the security review, and the crucial human judgment it lacks. Your value isn't replaced; it's elevated.

5/6 Pitfall #3: The deployment gap - ML code is just a tiny piece of the puzzle - Serving, monitoring, and infra make or break production success - Teams need cross-functional collaboration early, not just at deployment time

3/6 Pitfall #1: Optimizing the wrong problem ML projects often start with vague goals. A good project is: ✅ Feasible (technically doable) ✅ Desirable (business wants it) ✅ Profitable (ROI justifies the cost) Without all 3, failure is likely. #MachineLearning #AI
