This is the fundamental takeaway I see killing transparent optics & it’s great to see The Verge express it. A year from now I’m unsure the Snap Specs still ship because of this. The reason you put a computer on your face — the content — is worse in transparent optics even if the “world” is better.

Imagine an aperture like this fully closing over the lens in a pair of Apple glasses. Imagine a white ring that disappears when the aperture opens. Anytime you see the white ring of the Apple glasses you would know mechanically they’re not recording.

A bellwether is defined “a reliable indicator of future change”. Walkabout killed its iPhone version & builds spin-off Dungeon Golfer for VR as well as consoles and Steam where people still pay for premium games. If Human Relations can’t hit its Kickstarter mark what future is there for VRtoFlat?

Fascinating. Even accusing people of recording you when they aren’t is enough social pressure to discourage the use of camera glasses.

My favorite thing about New York is when Park Avenue closes to cars for a few golden Saturdays in August and we can sail through the city on a bike. This year basically the entire length of Manhattan island can be traversed on Aug. 1, 8 and 15. @thewaroncars.bsky.social @mayor.nyc.gov

Promoting my content & interacting with community has forced me to start using the current social platforms and I hate them so much. Here’s Meta AI generating a second title for my headline for no damn good reason and misidentifying a company it owns as a TV show with the same name.

17 minutes of 30 FPS 4K spatial video is 20 gigabytes. If an iPhone gets to 60 FPS spatial video I’m gonna need a 2 terabyte device. I disgust myself.
