A colleague published a bunch of docs pages, half are instructions for AI about what to write there instead, the other half already processed into prose (sic.) by AI. The former concisely tackles everything you need to know, the latter is a mix of an unsold novel and a dishwasher manual. I'm sad.

I'm confused. I enabled trusted publishing in 0.3.5, and then added staged publishing in 0.3.6 but according to @npmx.dev 's new timeline feature, the lib dropped trusted publishing. Is it because the publisher identity changed from GH OIDC to my email when I confirmed the staged release?

I like it how just two weeks ago I heard about ideas on how an alternative to npmjs.org would look like. And now when I'm coming back from my vacation (and could contribute) npmx.dev basically looks like a finished product. In the same time I could not even find a name/domain for my RSS reader 😢

Just ran oxfmt on our 35k+ files Vue codebase. It took 10 seconds vs prettier taking 63 seconds. But the most impressive part for me is that only 27 files ended up being formatted differently. Incredible work (on an alpha version, no less) @boshen.github.io @voidzero.dev !

All pipelines failing, cryptic error messages, very inconclusive debugging. I was totally lost in what was happening till I checked the news. It's a bit scary how an AWS outage impacted so "stealthily" our system. Apparently npm installs failed ,but exclusively in GitHub actions

I remember how a year ago lots of AI experts informed us how 90% of engineering jobs would be replaced by AI within 6 months, or something to that effect. Things like this stop me from seriously considering it in any decision making or planning; I am accountable for the results of my decisions

If you're not using a private DNS you should consider it. Adguard, based in Cyprus, blocks quite a lot of ads for me. It's also OSS. I've heard good things about Quad9, based in Switzerland, as well. They're more focused on malware protection. Easy setup: adguard-dns.io/en/public-dn...

The teams I work with were reluctant to use signals in our preact codebase and I did not want to push it too much, but it's so great to see after a few months of dropping it here and there, and a few POCs solving real issues, that we're not only adopting them, but very enthusiastic about it

Every year at this time I go for a month-long "workation" somewhere tropical in Asia, to escape Amsterdam's winter. Every year I'm reminded of the importance of bundle size and loading speed of websites. The web is unnecessarily slow, not everyone has fast and stable internet all the time.
