They do feel real similar in a lot of cars now so I have some sympa for the elders who make these mistakes. Idk mostly it's because I drive rentals a lot -- I feel like if it were my own car I'd be accustomed to all the things. But, a lot of modern cars don't feel intuitive to just, hop in and drive

There've been numerous instances of people driving their parked cars through storefronts here -- and every time I'm in a rental car and I see how the gear selectors in newer cars work, I'm like, oh, yes, I see how this happens. It is very hard to mistake reverse for drive in my old manual lol

Real answer? It depends a lot on what the vegan substitutes involved are. One example: Vegan ice cream sometimes uses coconut milk -- which is extremely tasty btw -- but isn't necessarily better on the old saturated fat front than dairy. So, you gotta kinda look at your ingredients with vegan food.
