Ages ago when I wrote about cycling regularly, I switched my keyboard layout to Swiss-French to have easy access to French and German diacrits. In the short term, this was smart actually! But I never really switched back and now, what I really need most often is Hawaiian diacrits.

To me, it's the most important part. Taking the draft, and distilling down to the most compelling and significant parts. I did a lot of short, front of the book print work for a while, and I did not realize how valuable that was, in terms of learning how to cut down and shape a piece of writing.
