But the worst example was when a coworker tried doing this sort of thing, and came up with an app acronym that spelled PORN. Fun. But then he had to do a presentation for the Defense Dept., powered up his laptop, broadcast his screen, and there on the desktop was a folder called PORN. 🤦

I used to get in trouble with this at work. I had to write a time management program once. I don't remember the full name, but it began "Weekly Activity Status Tracker..." and proceeded to spell WASTEOFTIME They approved Task Input Tracking System until they saw the acronym & 2 spinning globes logo

Seems to me, people appreciated and enjoyed what they took from Napster. And downloading hurt corporate revenues. AI doesn't appreciate what it takes. It steals only to make more money, and kill the "competition" (us). If we don't fight, money tends to triumph over love.

I tried to have a hand in it. I gradually introduced him to people that, in (conspiracy) theory, he should have hated, and he was surprised to discover he didn't. He may not have changed that much inside, but he never spoke hate in my presence afterwards.

Today would have been my father's 115th birthday. TBH he had some abhorrent ideas, and our relationship was always strained. But he did give me the mental tools and critical thinking skills to recognize his bullshit and escape from it. To be fair, he changed a lot before he died. He hated less.

For me, that's "west of France", though I have no one to use it with any more. I once told a coworker I wanted to visit Norway; and not wanting to sound ignorant, he replied confidently, "Oh, Norway -- that's west of France, right?" I had to point out that west of France was the Atlantic Ocean.

For me, it was being dragged off by my parents to a team of psychologists to find out "what was wrong with me". I was 6. I found the notes after my mom died. I kept the doctors on their toes: I knew what they were doing and called them out on it. But it broke my self-confidence. I hid. I still do.
