Had a great time at the 2nd NYC #MacAdmins meetup yesterday. Board member @jmahlman.bsky.social gave updates about the foundation and shared what’s coming up this year.

I've been on the Board with the Foundation a while now, and watching people use these grants to level up never gets old. Applications close May 9th. Please, spread this little note of love far and wide, and help someone get a foot in the door with the amazing humans in the Apple Community.

Know someone in the community who would benefit from the in person experience of the Hallway Track, but can't quite justify the trip? Perhaps someone you're mentoring, someone early in their career, or who'd shy away from asking for budget? Send them our way. www.macadmins.org/news/2025/04...

Adherence to a manual of style is one of the better reasons to use an LLM in writing. Love me an em dash.

The entire nine-car GWR train to London just emptied itself at Swindon because it was cancelled. The replacement train to London leaves from the same platform. It’s the same train. Literally, the same actual train. We all just got off and on again for no reason.

Our Slack community, now 75,000 members strong, is living proof of how welcoming and supportive this field can be - which is why I'm particularly excited to share that our third annual Community and Conference Grant for 2025 is now open, starting with MacAd.UK in Brighton this May.

Working alongside the Apple admin community has been one of the most rewarding parts of my career. Through the Mac Admins Foundation, I've seen firsthand how conference grants and scholarships can transform careers and open doors.
