I first heard about Yemenis being recruited under false pretences in August. Reporting from the FT shows this is systematic human trafficking. Yemeni recruit says they were forcibly taken from the airport, shots fired when they refused to sign enlistment contracts…all facilitated by the Houthis.

Read even briefly a/b the Village Leagues, the Palestinian National Guard, & other "local officials" Israel installed to "govern" occupied Palestinian communities in Palestine & Lebanon & you know this is a non-starter. The abuse & violence were horrific. It led directly to grassroots resistance.
