Yes! Def in a few Misty stories - one that scared me was Flight of Fear where the character has a night she is thrown into a plague pit… there is also Black Agnes set in London plague. I have a database of plot summaries at juliaround.com/misty - if any sound familiar I can post scans…

HB is excellent, I also loved B&B and Livestock too, tho it’s not horror. Ah I hope you like Misty - the Rebellion reprints have been solid, the Jaime Rumeu collection from Rebellion is almost all Misty stuff too and some of the best!

Ah thanks - you too! I went out for rugby and karaoke and now have no voice for my sins 😆 How’s life?

Back on it for day 5 of my fave #britishcomics #girlscomics team ups - let’s go with the classic Four Marys from Bunty. Here’s a reprint of the ‘frolicsome foursome’’s debut in 1958.

Full page black and white comic about four girls at a boarding school

Yeah sorry for the tag. But obvs breaking the chain can only end badly… goblins are the least of it… I just tagged comics folks at random haha. Putting the social into social media and all that (and mostly just trying to get into the habit of posting again after a loooooong twitter hiatus)

Julia Round @hypnojoo.bsky.social · 01/12/2024

Day 4 (belated as I went out last night and forgot) of my top #comicbook team ups from #britishcomics #girlscomics - it’s the Tiny Taylors from Spellbound! Shrunk to tiny size while on holiday in Scotland, they need to travel far to figure out how to return to their normal forms.

Two panels of a comics page in black and white. In the first a telephone operator at a switchboard is answering the phone. In the second a family of four tiny people are standing around a telephone receiver that is bigger than them and realising their voices are still too small to be heard.

Day 3 of favourite #ComicBook team ups challenge - from #BritishComics #GirlsComics I’m going for Sadie and Freya, the good girl/bad girl combo from Misty’s ‘Black Widow’, nicknamed Tara and Tula by its titular villainess

Cover page from Black Widow in Misty - a woman in robes and a spider headdress dominates the page, with a blond and a dark haired teenage girl taking instructions from her.

Day 2 of my fave teams #comicbook challenge - it’s The Silent Three, who appeared from the very first issue of School Friend, the first #britishcomics #girlscomics. Solving mysteries, defying evil prefects, wearing awesome robes and masks!

Black and white comic book panel showing three young girls wearing hooded robes and black masks

Julia Round @hypnojoo.bsky.social · 27/11/2024

OK I’m joining this #comicbook challenge - aiming for 10 days of my fave #BritishComics & #GirlsComics teams. Day 1: the Supercats! The unnecessarily sexily drawn crew of the Spaceship Lynx, a superpowered team (tho with a leader with no powers) whose adventures are a bonkers mix of sf and magic…

Splash page in monochrome and red showing four female space adventurers posing heroically / gasping in fear

020

Julia Round @hypnojoo.bsky.social · 27/11/2024

I’m in! How about this #BritishComics team… absolutely bonkers space adventurers whose serial appeared in more than one #GirlsComics where it frankly seemed v out of place…!
