I really love that FE has been diversifying its cast. Not just skin color (though that’s huge too!), but we’ve got so many older men in the playable cast! I think atp we’re just missing an older playable woman? Hopefully she exists 🙏🛐🤲 (Plus that context makes Cai’s band of teenagers even funnier)

The animations are really slick, definitely a huge jump up from 3H. I think from what we’ve seen Id say it’s even above Engage? Idk if I’m vibing with the Live2D portraits yet, but admittedly I ended up falling in love with Engage’s 3D model portraits so mayhaps an adjustment period is needed

The OST is soooo freaking good, I know I’m not gonna be disappointed when the game comes out. I’m trying to decide whether I should listen to the tracks they’ve released right now or save it for when the game comes out lol. That ending track for the Direct was chef’s kisssss 🧑‍🍳

It’s really interesting that they’re bringing back dungeon crawling too. SOV flashbacks anyone? I wasn’t a HUGE fan of SOV’s version of it but I trust that IS will have improved on the mechanics! I mean, it’s been like what, 9 years now? 😆

Onto the positives again! I have high hopes for the gameplay. The classes look pretty interesting and looks like they’re trying to do more to differentiate swords and lances! Charioteer and Elephant Rider (!!!) AOE effects really caught my eye. Hopefully the complexity is closer to Engage level

Ok final doom and gloom is that I didn’t like how Eshmael was introduced as the “true protagonist” after all of those interesting intros to the four lords. Kind of took the winds out of my sails. Obv we knew about Eshmael already but I still wish we could’ve just played as one of the lords

Not sure if I’m a fan of the 5 year timeskip. Seems too on the nose and too much of a callback to 3H. Maybe this is just how they’re presenting things rn to draw people in, but I hope this game has a solid identity outside of being in the 3H world. Hopefully this makes sense

Also, there seems to be a fair number of 3H descendants (Marianne and Shamir —> Ursula and Io, for sure). I’m worried this going to be like an Ike-Priam situation where gay pairings are delegitimized

I’m really curious to see how this will work considering that there are four very different endings for 3H. I know Dagda is a different continent but there are clear ties to Fodlan going on. I can’t see how they’ll appropriately expand on those while skirting around the ending

Speaking of crest stones I’m just gonna address the elephant (haha) in the room about Fodlan. Dietrich’s new bio convinces me that this is a sequel. Honestly I was on team prequel before this, but he’s explicitly a DESCENDANT of the 10 Elites… And Sothis is an adult. This has to be after 3H
