Publication alert. The Journal of Moral Education. bit.ly/4yLBjeI AI can be useful in moral education but cannot completely replace human educators because 1. cannot be authentic model for responsibility taking and growth for flourishing; 2. cannot promote sense of agency and autonomy.

2. Responsibility argument: AI cannot be a bearer of responsibility. So, it cannot teach students how to learn from mistakes and failures for moral growth while taking responsibility unlike human moral educators. (3/4)

I explored causal, not mere correlational, relationships among the components, which have not been well studied so far. Findings underscore importance of aspiration / moral purpose in virtue cultivation and development as shown in prior research in moral philosophy, psychology, and education. (2/3)
