Why did I have the urge to go up to every Mario character in Super Nintendo World, shake their hand, and tell them 'I'm a big fan of your work'?

Pretty sure I tried most of the drinks at Epic Universe, and I’ve gotta say — the Snow Wraith Piña Colada from Isle of Berk takes the crown. (Though, to be fair, me dying from the heat might’ve influenced how much I enjoyed it.)

Epic Universe is really taking advantage of the fact that I get insanely emotional every time I hear the How To Train Your Dragon score.

Flow has been rattling around in my brain *a lot* It reminded me of Fumito Ueda’s games — vast, towering landscapes that have existed long before we arrived, with just enough small pieces to make you question what came before. Love. Love. Love. P.S. The cat is also super cute x

I felt very so-so about A Complete Unknown, but my one positive takeaway is that it has really reignited my love for Dylan's music. Had this on repeat the last few days.

A Real Pain comes out next week and not only is it wonderful, but it’s also a member of the 90-minute film club (we love to see it). Hoping its screenplay continues to get the love it deserves.

My big Willem Dafoe interview is online now – we talked life, death(s), rats, monsters, outsiders... let alone the Bobby Peru masterclass he gave me (“Don’t you feel something swinging downstairs?”). And I'm in awe of the shoot Nadav Kander did for us. All here: www.empireonline.com/movies/featu...

For our new issue, in which we look back at 2024, I got in touch with Robot Dreams director Pablo Berger and shamelessly asked him if we could reunite Robot and Dog, and get them reading a copy of Empire. He got the film's art director, José Luis Ágreda, to do just that. LOOK AT IT! I am in love.
