After watching it pass me by year after year, I've finally decided to try my hand at the Silent Manga Audition.

It's finally official. At LEAST I have until March to catch up on my library. 😮‍💨 But RIP to the users who primarily frequented the pay-to-read series. "You can no longer aquire ink starting October 1st" *makes announcement on October 1st* What a blatant middle finger to those users. Oh my god.

Fixed up the work space! Downsized to one desk. As you can see, too much desk space = more room for clutter. 😅

Making a controversial choice and changing my eye style in the Love Metal remake. Idk if it makes them look more generic anime, but whatever, I like it. Plus it matches how they look in color illustrations.

Everyone's sharing their 9 animes, but I'd rather share the 9 manga that shaped me. There were so many I wanted to include, but these are the ones that had the most impact on me as an artist. Starting with the oldest to most recent.

'tis the season of art prompt lists. i made my own list for OC-tober this year! 🎨 have fun with it. feel free to do as much or as little as you want, repeat the same prompts multiple times, combine with other lists, whatever is fun for you! #OC-tober #OC-tober2026 #OCsky

TITLE: OC-Tober Art Prompts
Description: it's OC-tober, the perfect excuse to spend the whole month drawing your
original characters. you can approach these prompts with whatever degree
of seriousness and effort you want. this isn't a legally binding list of obligations,
it's just ideas to get the gears turning!
the list: • finish an unfinished piece (maybe even more than one)
• design a new character, or finish an unfinished design
• rework a character design that needs some polish
• design a movie poster or a magazine cover
• draw a single-page comic or short storyboard
• draw your OCs in an alternate universe
• draw your OCs in another art style
• find a blank art meme/challenge to do
• draw something you find difficult, using your OC
• draw an OC at a different age than you usually do
• redraw a scene from a movie or TV show with OCs
• draw an OC cosplaying one of the characters that
inspired their design
• redraw a childhood drawing of an OC
• draw two OCs interacting who you haven't before
• play with alternate color palettes
Footnote: re-interpret however you want or combine with other lists! the only
rules are have fun, take care of your wrists, and don't use AI.

Feeling called out, but they're not wrong. Though a good portion of my table is original art & comics. However, IF the event allows it, I will bring fanart as well. Sadly, it's what earns the majority of my sales.

p.s. when you develop enough of a critical eye to find the flaws in the things that you used to think were untouchably, impossibly perfect, you realize that it is okay to make imperfect things. the next step from there is "it's ok for ME to make imperfect things"

Welcome back artists! 🖌️🎨 Quote post with an old piece that you still like! At the bar with the boys!! I made this around 2017. Colored with a mix of copic markers and digital assets. While the colors and anatomy are way off, I'm still proud of this piece, especially the beer falling on David.

A colored manga illustration of four guys sitting at a bar table with a couple of beers. One guy in rhe back is standing up sporting the rock on horns hand symbol, while dropping his drink on his friend's head. The friend does not look pleased.

99.9% of generative AI models ONLY function (& therefore only have value) b/c the companies that create them wilfully steal the material to do so. This shouldn't be an outlandish statement! It also should be the end of any & all discussions around LLMs but, for some insane reason, it isn't!
