I'm Cool by Chikoi the Maid has been looping in my head for the last couple days. #maidcore is such an underrated genre. Just sick riffs and heavy bass, all from cute anime maids. What more could you want? #nowplaying #MusicSky

I've written all the beginning, most of the end, and half of the middle. I know how the shit started and how the shit ends up... but I have no idea how those shits connect. I'm certain I had an idea of how to tie it all together at some point, I think, maybe.

My current novel spurred from a single cool scene in my head. It's now being split into a duology... Why did I spawn so much extra shit from just one scene??

#nowplaying Broken by #Gorillaz In that kinda headspace where I'm drifting away, breaking away from what I was once holding onto. Plastic Beach is such a sparkly yet melancholy album. Broken sounds almost dreamy in its sadness... #music

"Birth of the Homunculus" A sorceress astounded by her creation. This painting has been floating around in my head for months now, and I only found the right time to bring it to fruition yesterday! (see thread for details + process shot-by-shot)

A sorceress astounded by her freshly sculpted homunculus. A single shaft of light illuminates her creation. Bounce lighting reflects upon the sorceress. The homunculus has a flaccid butt.

The maker's hands are covered in fresh clay. They are the only body parts of the sorceress that are directly lit. Faint, residual purple smoke wisps from her fingertips: the homunculus stands in an awkward pose, that of a creature freshly adjusting to its body.

The homunculus has thin limbs and a hefty torso, though it is faced against the viewer. The sorceress's workshop is littered in sculpting tools, brushes, an open tome of transmutation, ceramic bowls and a pitcher of dirty clay water in which lie a few of these tools. Clay shavings are scattered about the floor. A red, runic circle surrounds the humonculus.

In the dark background it is possible to catch a few failed prototypes on a shelf.

It's a pain when editing, I notice a word I used 3 times in a paragraph and keep scratching at it like a bug bite. And by the time I "fix it" I think to myself, would anyone else even be bothered by it?

If you've got nothing written down yet, it's always good to start with a dump. Let all the thoughts and ideas spill out first, then clean up the mess into something cohesive after. I suggest a healthy dump!

#nowplaying Heavy psych band @rezzzn.bsky.social Sounds like being washed away by the very concept of time and space. And that sax... More metal bands need a saxophone, especially sludge bands. Adds so much to the feeling of sinking into an astral void. #music
