2 things can be true, the Liberty are a great 8 seed, and this is a very disappointing result from the Lynx. Not shocked with a series loss, but I am with a 2-0 result and the Lynx reeling from behind + not overcoming that in both games.

The Liberty did a great job of exposing the archetypes weaknesses. McBride’s off-ball ability was neutralized, Phee was not aggressive enough and was dealing with foul trouble, Court’s middies just don’t hit the same in the playoffs, Liv was dealing with all the size.

The Lynx’s 1H half-court offense sans Nia Brodie’s four 3PM was pretty awful for their standards. Brodie had 12 PTS, the rest of the team had 32 PTS on 13/31 FG | 2/10 3P The control was not in their favor, little connectivity, varied pace.

One thing that stands out early in my watch is how much more effective the Liberty were on their designed sets than the Lynx. The Liberty's size and ability to control the pace of the Lynx offense completely stifled so many of their actions. They controlled both sides.

The 15-0 Liberty run in just under 2 minutes only 3.5 minutes into the game, after the Lynx started off the game up 6-0 was writing on the wall. So many poor shot attempts, loose ball turnovers, just unorganized, non-synergistic hoops.

The good... The area of Joan Beringer's game that can help benefit the Timberwolves offense is his OREB prowess. Last season, per Cleaning the Glass, Beringer had an OREB on 15.8% of the Timberwolves' misses. That ranked in the 96th percentile and 7th among all Bigs.
