This one gives me feelings because I like to think that Bilbo gave Frodo the armor so Thorin was protecting him too. Zero evidence but still worth holding onto in my heart. (Not book compliant) but Frodo and Thorin have the same hair/eye color. Bilbo never could explain why he took Frodo in either.

This one is important because he doesn't even order another Dwarf to free the ponies. His focus is on rescuing Bilbo. ALL the dwarves charge in. Which makes perfect sense for Thorin "I cannot guarantee his safety nor will I be responsible for his fate" Oakenshield.

This one's more obvious but still important. Thorin "I cannot guarantee his safety nor will I be responsible for his fate" Oakenshield giving Bilbo THE MOST EXPENSIVE AND RARE PIECE OF TREASURE IN EREBOR while being afflicted by the gold sickness. In doing so, also saving Frodo later and the world

Yes Bilbo cared for the others but when it came down to it, they never denied/argued with Thorin’s statements that Bilbo wasn't one of them, despite disagreeing with him on other things.

Thorin "I cannot guarantee his safety nor will I be responsible for his fate" Oakenshield never questioning why Bilbo remains loyal to him despite his behavior toward the hobbit. Trolls hold a knife to Bilbo and ask if he's alone, Bilbo refuses to give the dwarves up even under threat of torture.
