The worst thing about leaving southern california was losing the huge selection of produce at the super- and farmer’s markets. But I found a place out here that has decent-ish avocados, and remembered exactly why I loved having one for breakfast every day. Sadly didn’t get a video of it, though.

A vintage diaper auction triggered a flashback. When I was 6, the first draft of my letter to Santa had a box of diapers just like this. I was going to unwrap just a corner, then sneak it away before the rest of my family saw it. I realized what a bullet I dodged when learning there was no Santa.

It’s funny. My partner lost their job in April. While I can support us easily on mine, I still put a 15-year run of 24/7 on pause while getting the budget in better shape. They, having hated this fetish when we started, shrieked for joy when I put one on yesterday. “I miss you wearing diapers.“
