I'm glad. I played through the entire thing completely (with every single side mission and secret etc) like 5-6 times so while I dislike the game, that knowledge didn't go anywhere! It's quite possible that I'm the only player on the planet that did an entire playthrough with the Heavy Rifle.

If all you care about is accomplishing your specific task, you can just find the code you need ready-made everywhere online, because swapping colors is an extremely common and straightforward task! Never any shame in using someone else's code, so long as you understand what you're copying.

Shaders is definitely not the art department! Mind you I learn this kind of thing **really** quickly so if you genuinely need help with this, teaching myself shaders to then help you wouldn't be a big deal.

(most of my experience was with GDI which has no hardware acceleration, so manually replacing colors was not uncommon)

Looking it up, it seems "modulate" is simply intended so you can take a greyscale image and make it different colors. Definitely not meant to do what you're trying to do, yeah. Everyone seems to suggest shaders for specific color swaps, which makes sense, since it **is** much faster.

Don't know to what extent Godot supports this, but replacing colors is probably fairly easy to do even without shaders! But yeah shaders are a very useful thing to learn for games. (Also you could upscale pictures with nearest-neighbor interpolation to prevent bsky from ruining it)

Also it's just very fun as a power move, because it's a game where you can fabricate explosive spy drones out of your face, run at bullet train speeds, jump over entire houses, but instead all of those potential abilities got spent on being able to fold a robot like a paper plane.

She's plenty muscular as-is, it's just that your stats don't alter your body shape as you play! Mind you, slicing clean through a military assault bot with just a regular-ass sword does a good job at conveying "okay she could fucking kill me"

Yeah especially because it's an immersive sim so there's no pre-determined "this is meant as a weapon for the player to pick up" The game just looks at the weight of the object, and if your strength rating surpasses it, you can pick it up. Game doesn't care what it is.

Deus Ex Revision in particular is fun because it comes with the Lay-D Denton mod (lets you genderswap the player character) and you get to install all the muscle augmentations and lift literal tons of weight and throw them at people~

Oh yeah I see what you mean. Well yeah the language is hard to pin down but to me the difference is obvious: A corset restricts "movement" but it doesn't restrict movement that's actually essential. My skates specifically limit mobility. They're designed to make it harder for me to get around.
