One thing I cherished during my time at HuffPost was the opportunity to serve on the @huffpostunion.bsky.social contract team. In January, after months of negotiation (and a strike pledge signed by 100% of our ~70-member union) we secured a fair deal – including dignified layoff rules! ✊

Just before layoffs, @buzzfeed.com management reversed its policy of paying out unused PTO to laid off employees. Because @huffpostunion.bsky.social codified the previous policy, union members will be paid out. I urge BuzzFeed management to pay non-union employees for the PTO they earned
