Jacobsen's book is not purely nonfiction. It is a speculative book about a potential scenario for nuclear war that uses real data and information in its discussion of the possibility. It reads like a pre-cursor to the Fallout games.

Most of the books I consume are nonfiction. This year, they centered around four themes. First up: "world systems". Here is a sample of great reads in that category. The one that stuck with me the most is Nuclear War: A Scenario by Annie Jacobsen.

The most personally impactful book I read this year: Man's Search for Meaning by Viktor E. Frankl. This is not a new book - I just didn't read it in the first ~77 years since its publication. Every passage in this book is moving.
