Congratulations to all who shared their work as part of the @yorkfestofideas.bsky.social. We had 8 great activities. Mia Gane from @uoyphilosophy.bsky.social explored the concept of home through crafts; Matthew Hall from @school-of-act.bsky.social invited participants to build their own bandstand.

Last wk we held our annual HRC Doctoral Competition! Five researchers selected by their academic units through a competitive process shared their doctoral research in 10-minute presentations aimed at non-specialists. And what a wonderful set of presentations! All of them now HRC Doctoral Fellows 🎉

Congratulations to our colleagues @richardogden.bsky.social and @marinanc.bsky.social on their grant success! They have been awarded funding by the AHRC and the German Research Foundation (DFG) to explore overlooked and underexplored sounds of conversation—such as sighs, clicks, and laughter.
