Rebuilding Nuxi with Rive. The current Nuxi is "hand-made": every expression is SVG and animations coded one by one (with a lot of AI help, to be fair). It works, but it's complex and a pain to reuse anywhere else.

GitHub tools now works with Jev from Typesafeai on Vercel AI Gateway. Jev picks the right preset and decides which writes need a human. Across 12 real GitHub tasks: 34% cheaper, 42% fewer input tokens, half the approval prompts, every task still passing.

Evi can now work on any repo where its GitHub app is installed. I asked it to improve the evlog instrumentation of my portfolio. A few minutes later, the PR was up: score 47 → 100 and every handler instrumented, checked in a fresh sandbox. But this is the first real step towards evlog.cloud!

A small thing that has helped me put this into practice: I removed or hid most social apps on my phone, then kept their messages in @beeper.com. I can still talk to people across Instagram, WhatsApp, X, etc. without opening each app and immediately landing in a feed.

What does observability look like when a judgment costs nothing? I'm exploring Signals for evlog.dev, built on Jev by @typesafeai. Describe a column in plain English. Every wide event gets it: typed, with a confidence.
TypeScript: defineSignal from evlog/signals named 'fault'. Runs when status >= 400 and asks 'Who is responsible for this failure?' with three choices: user, us, upstream. Result: signals.fault = { value: 'upstream', confidence: 0.93 }.

A little over a month late, but the first brick is finally in place. One year at @vercel.com. I’m writing about what a year here actually looks like: the work, the mission, the people. Can’t wait to share it!

Agents are really good at writing Markdown. What if Markdown wasn’t the output, but the material?

Hard to describe how hyped I am for the next version of Nuxt (and I'm not even talking about v5), the new CLI is a masterpiece, @roe.dev cooked so hard on this one

I think I’ve finally accepted that, in the future, we probably won’t be looking at the code anymore. But we’re clearly NOT there yet. Today, I’m not necessarily looking for smarter models. I want agents that are more effective, efficient, proactive and, above all, trustworthy.

evlog is growing way faster than I expected and there's so much I want to build. I just set up an Open Collective so I can invest back into it. Keeping everything running, and being able to bring people in to work on this with me. Any support would mean a lot. opencollective.com/evlog

We spend our days talking to agents now, so I love seeing them get a bit of personality. It makes the whole experience feel less like a terminal and more like a companion. Really proud of Nuxi. It started as a small idea back in June and it's amazing to see the effect it has on the community!

evlog — Digging through logs is not observability. It's hope.
A modern TypeScript logger built for everything you ship — scripts, libraries, jobs, edge, requests. Simple logs, wide events, and structured errors in one API.

Built a tool to create nice renders of evlog's doc animations. Now it's a full render engine. Upload your content, customize everything, export clean shots. UI still needs polish, but the output already looks nice. Built with @nuxt.com ofc render-labs.evlog.cloud

In case you need a Markdown parser and renderer that works **everywhere**. It has core & community plugins (highlight, toc, json-render, emoji, security...). Streaming is supported out of the box too, as well as minimal AST.
