Putting together a simplified map of the ✨Port Authority Bus Terminal.✨ Walked through (probably) all the levels today. Somehow it makes even less sense once you figure out how it’s laid out. I have so many questions. They all begin with “Why”.
Escalators up to Gates 401 to 421 at Port Authority Bus Terminal. Escalator at left is switched off (temporarily stairs), escalator at right is blocked off, out of order.

We just got back from a cross-country Amtrak trip! 9 stops, 4 nights on the train, and got around without cars *almost* everywhere. Highlights from several stops coming soon.

Apple Maps found me a slightly less busy intersection to do... this... in. Both the Apple and Google directions send me walking in areas with no sidewalks. I fear I may Uber the last mile.

Perhaps a protected nook so they can join the bike lane, then turn, then proceed with better visibility?

We love a good illustration! Some people are claiming we should only daylight (make it easier to see pedestrians) at intersections with crashes. Luckily, there's a map of crashes! Play with it yourself here: crashmapper.org#/ Golly, looks like people could use our guide! (data Sept 2020-2025)

Working on a home-printer-friendly version of our guide. Currently thwarted by font issues. Creating outlines in InDesign gives us odd letter spacing, and removes underlines. Wanted to do PDF, but might just cut our losses and put it out as a PNG (below is a lo-res screenshot). Thoughts?

Hi @npr.org! We worked late tonight putting together this handy pocket guide! It doesn't address road design issues, but if we're going to educate road users, we should include drivers. It's the size of a folded business card. Print it, fold it, put it in your wallet!
