Finally upgraded Reason to v14. Stayed on v12 since some people hated the new UI, but it's actually great for me! Already finished a new song so fast! Made lots of new sounds with stock instruments too. Reason is my main DAW again! Don't trust SNS too much haha. Just trust your own feeling.

Forgot I even had a PowerBook 180 until I fired it up today. Installed some retro games on the internal HDD, and it still runs flawlessly! I honestly prefer System 7 to modern macOS. Why did Apple have to change so much and ruin such a great system?

Finally scored a new Sadowsky MetroLine PJ Bass. It's fretted! I usually play a fretless WAL bass, but sometimes I want frets. This is my first Sadowsky, and it sounds great to me because it's not too vintage. I'm also surprised that the internal active preamp sounds superb! 🎸

Today's High Score: Gameboy "Solar Striker", a shooting game. Not complicated like modern games. Very good tempo and I think this is one of the best Gameboy shooting games. Also the BGM is very nice!

Finally switching from Windows PC to Mac for music because I really don’t want to deal with Windows 11, and I’m still on 10. So, that’s the reason! 👍 By the way, it’s a bit of a bummer that some of my old go-to plugins won’t run on the latest Mac OS. Anyway, the new Mac mini is super cute! 😀

Apparently, my Heritage Audio Grandchild 670 has a problem.😓 I discovered it has a phase issue. Checked it using a simple sine wave and observed very strange behavior(especially on the right channel). Returned it to my local music store, and they're checking it now. I hope it gets back to me soon!🏃

Time to replace a bass string for recording a new song. Polished the fingerboard and set the new one on my WAL fretless bass.🎸 The new string is the Ken Smith bass "Compressor" string, which is my recent favorite!🙂

Facing a disk(SSD) problem now and trying to back up my data which are stored almost all my new songs for the next album...! 😱 Now I'm getting 1/100 reading data speed of a regular SSD speed. It should be around 500MB/s if the disk is fine...! 😞

Struggled with a thin sound on next album. Replacing all effectors to hardware gear which are the TapeEmu, Passive EQ, Saturator, and Comp for the drum and bass tracks, and now the sound changed drastically better than using only VSTs!👍 I'll release the next album at mid of next year. house-eey.com

What did you get a plugin at the Black Friday sale for this year? I got the KORG M1. I usually use UVI Digital Synsations when I wanted to use M1 sound but there is a limitation to create a new sound. Now I'm free to create new sound with it! 🎹

I finally got Heritage Audio Grandchild 670 which is a truly Vari-Mu comp that drives by real vacuum tubes. It certainly adds some tube harmonics and makes the sound “warmer” and “smoother.” I don’t think I can reproduce the same sound with a digital plugin! 👍 Blog: house-eey.com/varlog/2024/...

Today's High Score: Atari LYNX Pit-Fighter that is one of the super famous fighting game. It's playable on LYNX. A little sluggish overall moving but not so bad, actually fun! BTW it didn't work on Analogue Pocket using Lynx adapter so I play it on the real LYNX console. No problem. 🙂 🕹️ #retrogame
