a funny part of how a lot of our early pc gaming experiences were pc deathmatch shooters is that we never actually played them online until later in life and would just spend all our time walking around empty maps looking at things and i think that defines us pretty well in itself

prey is a similar deal with re7 where we liked it before we played it BUT with a lot more complexity in that it took us so many damn tries to play it fully. It was the game that really truly introduced us to imsims and i think restarting so many playthroughs of it burned it even harder into our mind

resident evil 7 was instantly one of our favorite games when we first saw it even though we never played it ourselves until like 2 years ago. we saw it played through so many times from various people and GUESS WHAT. playing it ourselves made it even more one of our favorite games.

hawken is a bit of a random toss in at the end because webarely played it really But. that game defines mech games to us and had a very large impact on what we love about mech stuff. its less the game and more the presentation that influenced

half life 1 and 2 are also very interchangeable, we like 1 quite a lot more but we did play 2 first and it overall has probably had a greater impact on us lbp2 is so far above every other game on this list in terms of shaping who we are we cant even describe it with words

midtown madness 2 was one of our earliest games we remember playing and introduced us to modding and cars as funny objects. Kid pix 4 we used at school very occasionally and it absolutely defined a lot of our aesthetic interests for better or worse

with only a few exceptions a lot of the big favorite games of ours is stuff we only got around to playing like 2017 onward. we dont know if they count so were trying to think what games we played as a kid that lead us down the path of later playing those Big ones
