Sad I won’t be going NFC this year due to cost and just getting my finances together with the new job, but on the bright side, that’s money I can put towards VF and wine tour

It’s stronger than it appears!

Also it’s got a more reliable air seal than typical sliding doors

It has such a fascinating mechanism, and the fact that it ties straight into the glazing frame makes detailing the various barriers so much simpler

Carney put it best: “If we’re not at the table, then we’re on the menu.” I have a strong gut feeling that this is going to be the general new normal. Even once the Trump administration is gone, the populace that put him there will still persist, along with their interests, goals, and tendencies

130

Hoshi 🇨🇦 @hoshi.pet · 17/09/2026

This. In an increasingly multi-polar world where global superpowers are attempting to solidify influence and control over what they perceive as “their spheres,” they’ve shown they’re more than happy to use coercion on previous close allies. It’s not a phase—it’s the new general normal.

She acts like we owe her our money 😂

They took like, ZERO notes on what happened to Quebec’s economy when they did their referendum in the past. Like there’s a reason BMO’s headquarters moved to Toronto and not Montreal Super funny though watching Smith have to deal with what she fanned the flames on

Hoshi 🇨🇦 @hoshi.pet · 16/09/2026

I personally can’t wait for this moment, lol. It’s 100% gonna happen

110

Hoshi 🇨🇦 @hoshi.pet · 16/09/2026

The nicest way I can put it is a lot of their general population either agree with her, don’t care, or think everything will “go back to normal” once Trump is gone, so “hee-hee ex dee let’s laugh and joke about it while we can.”

110

Hoshi 🇨🇦 @hoshi.pet · 16/09/2026

I have some colourful language I could use to describe why, but I shall restrain myself

010

Hoshi 🇨🇦 @hoshi.pet · 16/09/2026

It definitely is both, lol

120

Hoshi 🇨🇦 @hoshi.pet · 16/09/2026

So fucking true xD As David Eby put it: “If you can't be friends with Canada, then you almost certainly do not have a friend anywhere in the world—and that is a very lonely place to be.”

Either her American exceptionalism is showing, or she’s just exceptionally blind and/or a fool

I’m not one to normally post politics, but the sheer audacity this US Senator has is crazy. Last I checked, WE were the ones your government declared economic war on our sovereignty. The old relationship is dead and not coming back. Sorry you don’t get to have your cake and eat it too

Oh I’m certainly not saying it’s a magic wand. Definitely has some downsides, but I think it’s at least worth trying as a pilot project, just to see how it goes. Take what worked from it and change what didn’t. Plan->Execute->Monitor->Repeat

Hoshi 🇨🇦 @hoshi.pet · 15/09/2026

Not to mention there’d be a much stronger driving force behind getting help and retaining help

100

Hoshi 🇨🇦 @hoshi.pet · 15/09/2026

My hot take is perhaps it’s time to start paying staff based on their role. They take time out of their day to hopefully make things run smooth for everyone else. Profit isn’t the goal ofc, but I dunno, if I was making enough to noticeably discount my room, there’d be a lot more incentive to improve
