Really good tradeoffs scales shared by @doctolib.bsky.social at #PlatformCon on how they built their platform to enable shipping micro services to break away from their monolith. Super mature! This is everything I wish people building platforms would discuss and make explicit on their strategy.

On point summary on migrations approach by Serhii at #PlatformCon - going stage by stage across the services rather than each service one by one Loved the following quote : "More people on the same [migration] model scale the model's inefficiency and hide it"

Great talk by Fahed Dorgaa at the #PlatformCon live Paris on CVEs impact analysis with context and LLMs thanks to github.com/venslabs/vens ! Really interesting, turning massive list of CVEs from artifacts into specialized insights Aldo, thanks to him for maintaining nerdctl which I use daily 🙏

Always a pleasure to see @juhnny5.bsky.social on stage :) Explaining today at #PlatformCom how the Restos du Coeur built their own AI tooling from refurbished hardware & open source ❤️ vLLM & Envoy AI Gateway helping a long way on top of other Cloud du Coeur nase blocks, up to LibreChat and more!

And that's a wrap for this edition of @breizhcamp.org ! Thanks so much to the organizing team, this conference is definitely one of the best we have in France. Super interesting talks all across the agenda, super friendly vibe, sponsors tagging along the theme with creative games, nice food... ❤️

Crash-cours-reminder on VirtIO :D OK and gVisor for the network part. Love the iNerdBox mplementation, it's really nice in its approach and stacked optimizations Definitely going to give it a try at home :) Also: www.docker.com/products/doc...

Remind me about my talk on Docker standardization years ago: www.youtube.com/watch?v=tH94... Never heard about EROFS before though, glad I picked that talk despite my familiarity with the topic! erofs.docs.kernel.org/en/latest/ Same for libkrun :o github.com/libkrun/libk...

Wrapping up this @breizhcamp.org with Nicolas De Loof on sandboxing with microVMs through github.com/containerd/n... Let's see what's new with the OCI runtime spec Implementations ! Can be especially interesting to sandbox agents more than just Docker which is already useful for that purpose

And now: ethical decisions at @breizhcamp.org Props to the speakers for providing a written script of the talk (docs.proton.me/doc?mode=ope...) right from the start so visually or earing impaires people have an easier tome folloIng along - @sestegra.bsky.social and bis KCCNC talk would be proue!

On reducing the version matrix test: check for all Python versions with the latest PostgreSQL version, and all PostgreSQL versions for stable Python, instead of every combination. Nice middle ground! Reals gains in the end, and GitHub considering the project's CI friendly enough for scheduling

Claude first low effort improvement suhgestions TIL about GitHub Actions services (I'm not using GitHub Actions that much fwiw) docs.github.com/en/actions/t... Crazy that simple token reuse had so much impact on CI duration!

On 60min CI (20min wait and 40min duration) being painful: "We're qn open-source projet son GitHub Actions are créé, which helped us avoiding opimtomizations, which is a problem in itself' Also, GitHub prioritize your runs lower if they're heavy.

Now @nledez.fr at @breizhcamp.org on how AI helped him reduce the carbon footprint of github.com/cgwire/zou CI Appreciate the early disclaimer of what the talk will _not_ discuss. I should do that more in my own talks instead of always trying to cram everything together.

Super happy to see @aeris.eu.org incredible work with bonjourlafuite.eu.org being showcased here at a @breizhcamp.org keynote ! That has been one of the corner pieces in the discussions with non-tech friends and family.

Yes on paying for the tools you use - which also includes donating to the FOSS software you use on my opinion! And on being careful with vanity metrics on what _we_ code and ship.

Of all the tech companies, I wouldn't have thought of AirBnB for being so much subsidized: existed since 2008, profitable since 2023. Never saw the "adversarial interoperability" wording before, that's a pretty good and explicit description coined here!

Last day of @breizhcamp.org opening with a keynote by Karine Sabatier on Enshittification - great followup to @julientopcu.com closing yesterday with Tech & Pop Culture ! Let's see if there's some light at the end of the tunnel to escape the platform effect somehow.

Early this morning at @breizhcamp.org to benefit from the morning fresh air (relatively speaking...) for a last dry run of the talk I'll present this afternoon : Stop with the feeling, steer your organization with policies ! Hopefully the demo will go fine, my laptop essentially died 2 days ago 🙈

Props to @klf37.bsky.social at @breizhcamp.org for an incredibly complete, interesting and smoothly delivered talk about improving devs & ops experience by considering them with the same care as end users/clients! Didn't even take notes given how engaging it was. Make sure to catch the recording!

Interesting to learn more about how policies-as-code can help auditing anything, including the practices shared during this talk? I'll talk about it tomorrow at @breizhcamp.org at 17:30 😉

In practice: - BIOS / UEFI hardening (locks, disables, encryption, etc) - Proper mounts (noexec, nosuid, nodev) - Firewalling - systemd-homed for user data persistence (that image 😂) - Observability (logs)

LOVE the approach. Live-reviewed ("4 eyes ceremony") image construction, then installed through PXE. No internet-connected end devices, 30min rollout of a change with full rebuild+re-image: quite efficient! And CPE files to audit CVEs without agents or connectivity.

Second talk of the day at @breizhcamp.org : Daria Hervieux and Mailya Bogrova on passwordless UX. Seeing how badly identification flows are often implemented, can't wait to have some useful tips to share! TIL we know fingerprints identification since 1880

While that seems a perfectly logical consequence, seeing real proof of de-skilling including in medicine is kinda scary? Especially if you end up doubting your own judgment versus the machine even when you're right. Real question: if it works at 90℅, is it enough? I guess it all depends on context

And now... Let's present live at the #AWSSummit on scene (16:45, Amphi Havane) how we at @payfiteng.bsky.social moved from our pure EC2+Kubernetes infrastructure to managed/serverless services Spoiler: our talk start with a dialog that has been titled "Cringe script". It's gonna be fun!

Indeed, it's hard for many people and companies to navigate the numerous regulations. And they're trying to help with that by building regulations helpers on on AWS AIRI (yet another of the super specific AWS services I didn't know about!) Also trying to ease IA compliance

Advocating for a more structure/cataloged dataset in S3 - including as a way for agents to discover and use data. S3 was already truly a beast, but it still evolved so much over the past couple years

On @awscloud.bsky.social core infrastructures pieces at the #AWSSummit We really gotta switch to Graviton someday at @payfiteng.bsky.social Hey, the keynote is spoiling our AWS Lambda durable functions mention in our talk this afternoon 😂 (16:45, Amphi. Havane, be there!)
