So deeply frustrated with rising costs of ingredients that I use. I figured if I was going to spend a small fortune on a 2 oz tin, I might as well buy a 2kilo tin. 2 oz is all you can buy now at $6. Break down cost of 2kg makes 2oz only $2.16. Yes I will use it.

As I understand it, you're not supposed to call this succotash because it doesn't have beans in it. That will be a future recipe. I do call it summer succotash w/my family circle. I haven't yet mastered art of cooking for 2 instead of 200... If you don't like okra, substitute green beans.

A sauteed mixture of onions, garlic, red bell pepper, green and yellow zucchini, fresh corn off the cob, okra, then stewed in fresh diced summer tomatoes. Sauteed in bacon fat, seasoned with salt pepper and thyme.

Very excited with my new project! I planted a mushroom garden. Pink oysters started pinning Wednesday. Every pic taken approximately 24 hours after previous. I cannot believe how fast they start growing once they pin. Still have Chestnut, Italian oyster, reishi, enoki to emerge.🌱🍄‍🟫

I managed to get the public information request with Spokane county. I just got done speaking with Tom of the Spokesman-Review and gave him all of the information. The name of the data center company trying to build for a 1000 MW request (not 500) is Apricus (Big Rock Data LLC). #bluesky #fyp

Yesterday while peering out my patio door, a hummingbird flew over my deck, stopped in front of me looked at me, and then flew away. I usually have fuchsia planters on either side of my patio door 4 them. I put in a rush order of 3 and today, Patio restaurant is having it soft open...🌱

22.5 trays of peppers just graduated to my high tunnel. That's 23 trays total that I don't have to carry back in the house anymore... I have heated sand tables that I'll cover for warmth at night. Weather forecast has 3 cloudy days that should harden them off as far as sunlight is concerned.

First wee plant babies of the season. These are hollyhock and I'm starting them early to experiment with some of them. I'm doing as much of this year's seeding in soil blocks as I can. I also do still use plastic cell trays, but I'm hoping to not have to replace them as they age out. 🌱

We are slated to get a freeze sometime this weekend. Managed to get one 90 ft row of cherry tomatoes and half of the pepper row. 2morrow I'll harvest chilies, eggplants & 2 other rows of tomatoes. I probably still have 500 lbs of tomatoes to pick. Running out of time...and space #spokanegardener 🌱
