My lab is recruiting a postdoctoral researcher! Interested in astrocyte transcriptional regulation and addiction? We study how astrocytic transcriptional, epigenetic, and chromatin regulation contributes to substance abuse disorders. DM or email me! www.l-holt-lab.com

Really excited to share this review article written with @olsenlab-vt.bsky.social! We highlight that astrocytes exhibit the same activity-dependent plasticity mechanisms as neurons across learning and memory www.sciencedirect.com/science/arti...

Cellular and molecular mechanisms of astrocyte plasticity in learning and memory
Learning and memory arise from coordinated activity-dependent plasticity across neural circuits and brain regions. Astrocytes are increasingly recogni…

Thrilled to wrap up the year and my postdoc work in the Nester lab with this publication 🥳! We show that astrocytic CREB regulates astrocyte calcium and D1-MSN activity to drive behavioral response to cocaine. pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/41406210/

Repair after CNS injury is not strictly local! We find that lesion-remote #astrocytes (LRAs) exhibit striking spatiotemporal heterogeneity across spared regions of the injured spinal cord and shape neural repair far from the injury epicenter! www.nature.com/articles/s41...

Lesion-remote astrocytes govern microglia-mediated white matter repair - Nature
After spinal cord injury, lesion-remote astrocytes acquire heterogeneous, spatially restricted reactivity states that shape neuroinflammation, neural repair and neurological recovery.
