#1000wordsofsummer brings out the silliest and best of my writing. Today I decided to take a project in a different way that I originally envisioned it because it was not working. Now I’ve got 1000 words plotting out the story and scenes to write including “scooby doo gang jots it down” 😂

I really questioned if I wanted to do #1000wordsofsummer this year because I’ve been in a mini war with myself to actually write but I sat down today with no expectations except to write 1000 words. I hit those 1000 words on something that is more diary than the project I want to do but it felt good

I love my local indie bookstore. The owner knows I am absolutely dying to get my hands on an ARC of Under Story by Chloe Benjamin and now I’m going to the store tomorrow to borrow her kindle to read the DRC she has. Will be buying so many books and also making her a special gift. 😭😭

Oh my god. I just finished The Flower Bearers by Rachel Eliza Griffiths and y’all I ugly cried though like half of it. The way Griffiths describes her relationship with her chosen sister and the absolute earthshaking grief following her death was so beautiful and visceral.

Revisited an old story idea to see if I should dive into it during #1000wordsofsummer and I really need to give myself more credit. There’s some good stuff there that would be fun to play with and expand. Made a list of a few scenes and I can’t wait to let the story take me where it wants to go.

So to be crystal clear, the Indiana governor wants you to laud this decision and consider him and his wife heroes for saving the program....but it's not going to be sustainable since it's via private donors and not the state budget. Don't fall for it.
