Never had this conversation before but if you’d asked me I would’ve also said tennis balls are green. Not in a way I’d argue about it, though—I get how they’re really yellow but it’s a *very greenish* yellow to me.
Have you ever gotten into an argument about a
color? I once got into an argument about
tennis balls and what color they were.
Yeah, what color are they? I'm curious.
I couldn't believe anyone thought they were
yellow. I always thought they were green.
They're totally yellow. I mean, we can get into one
now. You're wrong. It's so funny - I really thought
that they were definitionally yellow.
So what is going on with tennis balls?
Tennis balls are funny. I mean, if you ask people to
pick their best example of green and blue and red
and orange and yellow and so on, there's a lot of
variability. Green and blue is the most variable.
Some people's best example of green is another
person's best example of blue.

Too easy. I simply chose the only statement with a whiff of gravitas -- which ipso facto rules out Trump.
What statement did President Trump NOT make on
Tuesday about Al?

"We have both the capability and responsibility to
develop and manage Al for good."

You did it!

Last week in Washington, D.C., Chinese President Xi Jinping said
the U.S. and China "have both the capability and responsibility
to develop and manage Al for good." This Tuesday, Trump and
leaders of Al companies signed a voluntary accord that says the
companies will self-police their development of Al.

What a great legacy in a place you might not expect.
Harriet Hancock, who has died at 89, was a
leading force for the gay rights movement in
South Carolina, where she spent more than four
decades fighting on behalf of equality and dignity
for LGBTQ+ people like her son Greg, who came
out to her in the early 198os.
"Is that all?" Ms. Hancock recalled saying, after he
nervously told her he was gay. "I thought you
wrecked the car or got caught smoking pot!"
At a time when gay men and lesbians faced
widespread persecution, with many worried that
coming out would threaten their jobs, families
and safety, Ms. Hancock became an outspoken
ally, emerging as a fixture of the LGBTQ+
community in her hometown of Columbia, the
state capital.
"We always joke that my brother came out of the
closet, but my mom kicked the door down," her
daughter Jennifer Tague told The Washington
Post. "She came out fighting for his rights."

Kathleen Turner is so great and this is absolutely the perfect reaction.
K
athleen Turner is breaking her silence on the new revelations about
her relationship with Michael Douglas.
The Wall Street star revealed that he had a secret affair with the Peggy Sue
Got Married actress while they were filming 1984's Romancing the Stone in
his upcoming memoir One Helluva Ride. Now, Turner is speaking out.
"Good heavens what a fuss about something 40 years ago!" the actress told
PEOPLE in a statement. "I love Michael and | look forward to enjoying the
book."
In an excerpt from One Helluva Ride published in PEOPLE, Douglas detailed
his fling with his costar. "Kathleen was smart, funny, and sexy with a deep,
sultry voice that became her signature," he wrote, noting that "things at
home were in a bad place" with then-wife Diandra Douglas and explaining
that they were "both having extramarital affairs" at the time.

Such a great story—a cash-only dive bar in his basement he’s been running since he bought the house in 1963. Washington Post: Last call? Not for this 103-year-old bartender. apple.news/APR3Te6UfQGWkpCfF_icvMA
A framed photograph of Irv, left, with his brother Harry from
their younger years is among items in the bar. (Pete Kiehart/
For The Washington Post)
Going in to the bar business just sort of happened.
The house he now lives in was built in 1912 as a
summer home for a prominent Baltimore
meatpacking family and later became an inn
before Irv bought it in 1963.
"This was up for sale," Irv says unsentimentally.
"We needed a house. So we bought the house, and
guess what? The bar came with it."
Not everyone who discovers their new digs come
with a fully functioning tavern would opt to leave
their careers for bartending. Irv did.
"Well, I was gifted it, so I took it," he says. "When
I was born and all, everything was pennies,
nickels and dimes. Now it's twenties, fifties,
hundreds. So that's why I opened up the bar. For
the money!"

New York City residents struggling to get out of
recurring subscription fees can now submit
complaints to the city government. As of
Thursday, the city's click-to-cancel rule has taken
effect, which requires businesses to make it as
easy to cancel a subscription as it is to sign up.
That means a gym that lets you join online, for
example, can't make you call or go in person to
end your subscription.
It's the first municipality to see the rule take
effect, after an appeals court struck down a
federal version for procedural issues. The city
expects it to save New Yorkers anywhere from
$21.5 million to $162.5 million annually. And to
NYC Department of Consumer and Worker
Protection (DCWP) Commissioner Samuel
Levine, it's an example of how state and local
governments can hold companies accountable
when federal efforts fail.

while the conversion of the street into a

This analyst is reacting specifically to Trump’s claim that slashing fuel efficiency targets will cut the price of cars. But her statement applies to Trump’s comprehension of everything.
"You're not going to see a vehicle that's $1,300
less expensive," said Stephanie Brinley, principal
automotive analyst with Mobility Global. "That's
not quite how it works.”

Automakers already are struggling under Trump's tariffs, which increase costs, said Jessica Caldwell, head of insights at Edmunds. So any savings from weaker fuel economy standards would probably go to offset tariffs first, Caldwell said.
