The GM Mode is now live! You can access it in the NHL App: nhl.hockey-statistics.com/gm-mode With just a few days until free agency starts you can now see what a signing will do for your team's point projection and run simulations. I will do a write-up on the tool in the coming days.

My NHL site is now live! nhl.hockey-statistics.com There are many features that you can't find anywhere and I'm quite proud of this project. However, I could really use your help spread the word. Please share the link here on Bluesky, but also on other platforms. It means a lot!

The NHL site is coming along nicely. I would like to test how it scales, so everyone should visit the site to test how it handles traffic. I'm fairly sure the site (on the current plan) won't be able to handle the traffic. I will close the link tomorrow nhl.hockey-statistics.com

The PWHL site is getting a little attention. I hope you will consider to support the work: pwhl.onrender.com/coffee There are some minor expenses in regards to hosting the site, and I would like for it to at least break even.

Been doing some work on the NHL App which will hopefully go public in a not so far away future. The Game Projections are now fully automated and RAPM charts for Corsi, xG and Goals have been added. It's all coming along nicely.

PWHL update: Merry Christmas everyone! I've added some new features and pages to the PWHL app including EA ratings from the NHL games - Thanks to x.com/jbouch95 for collecting the ratings. Let me know what you think.

PWHL: I've added a Skaters page. For now it just shows some basic stats and Shot maps of individual shots. You can see performance against specific goaltenders.

Still working on the NHL App, but I could use some fresh eyes and little bit testing before I go public with it. Send me DM if you want to test it out. It's not at all a finished product yet, but it gets better by the day.

The first line in the tooltip is the Team name. The color (like the markers) depends on the Team perspective. It's difficult to see on that background for Boston and Minnesota. It sure needs a little work. You could do Team logo or perhaps go with a player image.

hockeyskytte.bsky.social @hockeyskytte.bsky.social · 06/10/2025

Thanks! I'm honestly not 100% sold that the tooltip bring much value. I might just drop it all together... But if I don't I should definitely tighten the margins.

That's it for now. Let me know what you think, and particularly let me know if you would be interested in video tagging some PWHL games. I've tried to build the Shotplotter, so it's as easy as possible to add video tags to existing data.

hockeyskytte.bsky.social @hockeyskytte.bsky.social · 06/10/2025

Just a few comments on the PWHL play-by-play data: 1) It includes blocked shots, but not missed shots for some reason. 2) There's no Strength State, so the Strength State is calculated (there are mistakes!)

100 0

hockeyskytte.bsky.social @hockeyskytte.bsky.social · 06/10/2025

Finally, you have the Video tool. Now, I've only video-tagged one game, so there's not a whole lot of video there. You can filter the data, so for instance you can see all shots by a specific player.

110 0

hockeyskytte.bsky.social @hockeyskytte.bsky.social · 06/10/2025

You also have the more classical Table view. The tables can be downloaded.

100 0

hockeyskytte.bsky.social @hockeyskytte.bsky.social · 06/10/2025

You can also see Shot attempts on a Heat map. Each of the zones are clickable, so you can focus on a specific area.

hockeyskytte.bsky.social @hockeyskytte.bsky.social · 06/10/2025

On the Report page on the PWHL App you can analyse the Play-by-Play data. I will add xG later, but unfortunately we don't On-Ice information (except on goals). Here you see Shot maps for and against for Boston Fleet.

hockeyskytte.bsky.social @hockeyskytte.bsky.social · 06/10/2025

This is particularly interesting for the PWHL because all games are publicly available on YouTube. This means you can use the Shotplotter to add videos to events from the Play-by-Play data. Let me know if you have any interest of helping out with that part.

100 0

hockeyskytte.bsky.social @hockeyskytte.bsky.social · 06/10/2025

Likewise, you can import the Play-by-Play data into the shotplotter: sports-tagging.netlify.app/hockey/

100 0

hockeyskytte.bsky.social @hockeyskytte.bsky.social · 06/10/2025

The downloaded lineups can then be imported into the Shotplotter if you want: sports-tagging.netlify.app/hockey/teams

100 0

hockeyskytte.bsky.social @hockeyskytte.bsky.social · 06/10/2025

That will take you to the game page where you can see and download (export CSV) lineups and play-by-play data. The Strength State calculations need a little work - Particularly for blocked shots... But it's not the easiest thing to calculate Strength from directly from PBP.

120 0

hockeyskytte.bsky.social @hockeyskytte.bsky.social · 06/10/2025

The schedule and Game data is taken directly from PWHL, so it should always be up to date with the league. You can click on a specific game (if it has been played).

Thread🧵 PWHL App: I've made an App where you can find and analyse PWHL. It's connected to the Shotplotter App I made a few weeks ago, in that you can download Lineups and PBP data which can then be imported into the Shotplotter. pwhl.onrender.com

Thread🧵: I've built a tool for shot tagging in hockey. It is very much inspired by @nguyenank.bsky.social's shot-plotter. I built a floorball version mostly for personal use, but figured a hockey version would be interesting to other people as well. sports-tagging.netlify.app/hockey/

You can also see tables with data, and there's a video player function. Here you can filter the events, and you can click in the table to play that specific. You can go back and fourth between events and choose how much you want to play before and after the event.

000 0

hockeyskytte.bsky.social @hockeyskytte.bsky.social · 27/09/2025

If you go to Heat Maps you can see the events by zone. The zones are a little different in the hockey app, but the concept is the same.

110 0

hockeyskytte.bsky.social @hockeyskytte.bsky.social · 27/09/2025

In the Report pages you can analyze the data. Here's data from a few floorball games.

100 0

hockeyskytte.bsky.social @hockeyskytte.bsky.social · 27/09/2025

Once you have tagged a game you can export the game data, and after that you can always import it back to the App. You can easily import multiple CSV files for analysis.

100 0

hockeyskytte.bsky.social @hockeyskytte.bsky.social · 27/09/2025

You can also add videos to the event. I'm not quite sure how well YouTube videos work, but from a normal video URL it will automatically grab the video time from the player, and add it to the shot table.

100 0

hockeyskytte.bsky.social @hockeyskytte.bsky.social · 27/09/2025

The players will autofill based on the lines selection, but you can also manually change the player numbers, if mixed lines are on the ice.

100 0

hockeyskytte.bsky.social @hockeyskytte.bsky.social · 27/09/2025

Once you have filled out the team lists you can start plotting shots. Under Shot details you can choose Team, Event type, Period, Strength State Perspective, Strength State, Player 1 (shooter), Player 2 (e.g. shot blocker), Forward lines, defensive lines.

100 0

hockeyskytte.bsky.social @hockeyskytte.bsky.social · 27/09/2025

Team lists: The idea is that you start of by entering the team lists. You should assign the Starting goaltender with a G under line. Otherwise, you can assign the players to a specific line - either 1,2,3 is you're playing full lines or 1F,2F,...,1D,2D,... if you're playing defenders/forwards
