There's also a (sort of) new musical instrument shop in Birmingham too. Hobgoblin Music has returned home from exile (along the road and apparently on another planet). We're back where we belong at 4 Priory Queensway, B4 6BS

Here are some more photos from inside the shop. Thanks SO MUCH to everyone who has commented online or, even better, come into the shop to welcome us to the city. We're so happy to be there.

"Gosh, you lot are spread thin you must be exhausted, how DO you do it?" I hear you exclaim. But worry not, we do actually love it. Still to come on the Hobgoblin Festival Calendar this year are Cropredy Fairport Convention and Shrewsbury Folk Festival.

Howdy! The Hobgoblin Music 2026 festival tour continues - this week we are at Broadstairs Folk Week with, I have to say, a very nicely put together display of new and secondhand instruments from our shop in Canterbury.

One more day to go! Whatever else you do with your last day at @sidmouthfolkfest.bsky.social in 2026, don't forget to head to Blackmore Gardens for dancing, children's entertainment, great food and of course the Hobgoblin Music stall.

It's big and a bit busy! But extremely well loved. I'm heading there later today but I don't usually go because I'm always at Cambridge over the same dates.

And if you like your Hobgoblin Music stall tidy and organised, there are still four days left of Sidmouth Folk Festival and you'll find a magnificent offering from us at Blackmore Gardens.

People often ask me "did you enjoy Cambridge Festival?" And the answer is always the same. (OH WOW YES I DID I LOVE IT THERE OMG etc). I'm so lucky I get to spend time with some of the most fun, talented and musical people I've ever met and call it work.
