Another overlap with me! Radiohead was definitely my gateway to other bands. After telling my guitar teacher about my love for that band, he turned me on to Blonde Redhead’s “Melody of Certain Damaged Lemons,” which became a path to Touch and Go Records.

So you can play a muddy big muff in one channel and a cutting overdrive in a second channel, and it will combine both sounds.

Instead of running pedals in series, it allows you to run pedals in parallel to each other. i.e. if you have two dirt pedals, instead of one pedal going into another (like in gain stacking), you can run them at the same time but they’re not affecting each other.
