Birb update: Xrime (pronounced crime) is doing much better. 1st vet visit came back with a host of antibiotics for digestive and eye troubles he picked up at the rescue. Nightly "drug Xrime" treatments have worked well, and he's on the mend.

Fresh blueberry scones with whipped cream are this morning's (mostly successful) baking experiment. 8/10 must repeat again, and again, and likely again, to perfect them...for scientific reasons

A golden brown blueberry scone with glistens of sugar granules and a dollop of whipped cream on a lovely blue ceramic plate with swirling fossil-like patterns. The plate was one of many a friend made for her own wedding reception and gave away to all the guests. The scones, likewise we're given away to the family, who are now actively resisting the urge to eat the rest of the batch.
