I'm a bit late for WIP Wed (kind of forgot that was a thing) but I've been working all summer on my first #Yizhan fic. I feel like I'm channeling a lot of corianderbunnies and @chameleonwrites.bsky.social while writing but it can't be helped, they're just so inspirational. 32k /45k words so far 😄💛

You know how someone will tell a story, about how they have no friends, or people always ghost them, or no matter how sincerely they try no one sticks around? And then someone else always comes along and says, quite reasonably, "Maybe the problem is you?" So, yeah. I guess the problem is me.

This post was brought to you by me DNFing a Yizhan fic that had huge potential and I was so excited to read for the first few chapters, but I couldn't even get more than a quarter of the way through when it became obvious the author stopped putting their own effort in and condemned it to AI trash.

120

hitome-bore.bsky.social @hitome-bore.bsky.social · 11/07/2026

I wish people realized just how horrible and soulless AI makes your writing sound. How obviously it pervades your work when certain words get overused and certain sentence structures keep showing up. I'd rather have your bad grammar and your run-on sentences any day than slop that invokes nothing.

I have this head canon thanks to the combined keyblade keychain that these two dinkle muffins shared paopu fruit when they were wee little kids and have completely forgotten about it. Also that second image hhhnnnnnnnn 🫦😏😏

Was about to say... as soon as I saw that video, I was like, "Uhh that room looks AWFULLY familiar guys..." It's that same side room, probably in their shared studio or something, or XZ's suite, where they film those greetings and side things that they do which don't need a big production 😍😍

Obviously you need to do another video on the more recent trailer, since it's clear your video posting schedule has some special power to summon forth KH4 reveals/trailers. It will be a beautiful endless loop of your amazing analysis and another new trailer to talk about over and over! 😜😍💫

their supposed genius (and all their thoughts just read like a teenager complaining about how unloved they are). And worst of all, no. one. speaks. properly. They're in an emperor's court! With politics! Intrigue! AND MANNERS! But they all talk the same!! I can't believe I'm going to DNF this. 😩😩

hitome-bore.bsky.social @hitome-bore.bsky.social · 13/06/2026

The descriptions are massive and rich, but the dialogue is lifted straight from genZ college kids in a coffee shop. Every character's decision is illogical. The author constantly tells rather than shows. I have no interest in the annoying MC and no sympathy for their "hardships" or see a speck of...

hitome-bore.bsky.social @hitome-bore.bsky.social · 13/06/2026

Okay. I haven't read many recently published books but I am seriously questioning the low standards society has come to. I got this as a gift and was told it was the best thing they'd ever read and that it hit all my must-haves (even East Asian themed) except it's just a flaming pile of garbage 🙃

One of the most annoying things is when ppl talk about Soriku and point out that the way they act and think about each other isn't the way one would typically act/think about a best friend then some guy writes a novel talking about how him and his male best friend act exactly like Sora and Riku do.

If you're into Star Trek, you could always look at the Star Trek fusion tag. I've read some wonderful stories that have brilliant engineer Wei Ying falling hard for half human half Vulcan Lan Zhan, or vice versa, and read some stories with interesting plots and mysteries that need to be untangled.

And it would be such a different argument or even have a leg to stand on if Riku had ever once shown a genuine romantic interest in Kairi. Riku is so confident and cocky that it would have made sense to show him vying for Kairi's affections when speaking directly to her. But that never happens.

130

hitome-bore.bsky.social @hitome-bore.bsky.social · 05/06/2026

It's like people who played that game have never once in their lives made a statement they didn't actually intend to follow through on just to gauge the other person's reaction to it. It's like none of them remember being teenagers even though most of them played it when they were that young.

This comment is what got me thinking about how that one decision has led to such heated defense of the straight couple, when it's really not about sharing a paopu with Kairi at all. What's even crazier is in the paopu scene Riku never mentions Kairi, just tries to goad Sora into wanting to try it.

120

hitome-bore.bsky.social @hitome-bore.bsky.social · 04/06/2026

Yeah, that's what I'm curious about. I don't think he wrote it vague to make it confusing, but because real life is messy and people grow apart. I'm just curious to know if he expected the intense debate and influx of heteronormativity, when he was just trying to tell a coming of age love story.

020

hitome-bore.bsky.social @hitome-bore.bsky.social · 04/06/2026

I'm eagerly awaiting the day when Nomura talks about fan perception and what the games' real messaging has always been. I wonder if he was surprised by the intense heteronormativity that came out of the story, or if he wrote it deliberately vague because that's what real life is actually like.

110

hitome-bore.bsky.social @hitome-bore.bsky.social · 04/06/2026

You rewrote that scene with 100% the same vibes and even the same dialogue mood. It was absolutely what they were going for at that moment, and I'm sorry but "jealous rival" doesn't even come near to explaining Riku's behavior for any part of KH1 if that rival is Sora.

120

hitome-bore.bsky.social @hitome-bore.bsky.social · 04/06/2026

Makes me so warm and fuzzy and happy for them! It's already amazing to see two people who have found their soulmate, and that they're making it work with their lifestyles and in the culture they live in. I really admire their bravery and the depth of their love for having held on to each other 💛💛

hitome-bore.bsky.social @hitome-bore.bsky.social · 04/06/2026

This scene still kills me every time. Riku was preening and posturing so hard--hair flipping, chest out, hands on his hips--in front of his crush. He really could have cared less about Kairi in that moment, he just wanted Sora to look at him. I love cocky KH1 era Riku so much 😍😍

I would not have guessed this was a beer commercial because in America all beer commercials have to do with being tough and manly and driving big trucks and wrangling horses. I don't think those companies realize how much their profits would soar if they took this direction instead 🤣

Alright, who's been craving homemade cinnamon rolls this week? It's me. I'm the one that's been craving homemade cinnamon rolls topped with vanilla cream cheese icing this whole week 🤤🤤

Cinnamon roll dough rolled flat and topped with way too much butter, brown sugar, and cinnamon.

A dozen cut cinnamon rolls in a white baking pan, ready to be proofed before going into the oven.

Freshly baked cinnamon rolls in a white pan, covered with an obscene amount of vanilla cream cheese frosting.
