I would love to know who they spoke to! The cemetery is nineteenth century and does not feature on Speede’s map or any other until much later. They might have medieval bodies but i don’t think they were in consecrated ground www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

I've just found that the Italian war diaries of the 84 Sanitary Section are now in the National Archives. Beyond excited that I've located them as I'm still determined to write an epic account of that unit in WWI (my GGF was in it). 🙂

Had an interesting week discussing the legacy of the 1926 General Strike. My take away is the urgent need to write down the part trades councils played in it. Trades councils are largely ignored by labour historians and so we're going to have to write these histories ourselves. #GeneralStrike100 💪
