Historian E.P. Thompson had very little time for counterfactuals, labelling them ‘unhistorical *%#*’. 😮 That notwithstanding (!), some of the greatest pedagogic utility I have leveraged out of AI / LLMs thus far has been to generate counterfactuals as starter activities. #AI

This gentleman is the absolute pinnacle of History Teaching. When I came to St Chris in 2014, he was the Head of History. He sadly moved on in 2015, & I became HOD, stepping into some very big shoes. It was an absolute pleasure & a privilege to see him today. Salute to Mr Jim Connolly! Go well!
