A long shot, perhaps, but is anyone due to visit the British Library soon and who could consult an Indian Army officer's service record for me? I am just after one or two specific details. #ww1 #genealogy

Not long back from a wonderful family break for Baby Moore's first battlefield tour! We visited Ypres, the Salient and French Flanders, where - I'm happy to report - she took to the battlefields like a duck to water. First of many visits, I hope!

Back to the battlefields this week - a great 3 days out guiding. Brilliant weather, a great group and the joy of being in some of my favourite places on Planet Earth. A great way to get back into the swing of things!

Even on Maternity Leave, I still have to stop and admire war memorials - with todays selection coming from a visit earlier in the week to Shrewsbury, covering the towns Boer and First World War Memorials, and the impressive county memorial too.

Since I like stats - more people were killed and injured in mass shootings in the US yesterday than in the UK in 2023-2025. Unless today and tomorrow are unusually quiet more people will be killed and injured in mass shootings in the US by wednesday than in the UK since 2020.

Minority representation on TV causes outrage

There has been widespread support for prominent Reform MP
Sarah Pochin after she complained about the over-representation of minorities on television.
Said one angry viewer, "She's right. Every time you turn on the telly there's another Reform MP being interviewed by Laura Kuenssberg."
She added, "I respect their way of life and their strange customs, but Reform MPs comprise only 0.7 percent of the House of Commons. Yet Nigel Farage is on Question Time more than Fiona Bruce."
"I'm not prejudiced. Some of my best friends are swivel-eyed loons, but enough is enough.
There are too many people with angry red faces on television.”
